About the event
The Columbus Memorial Library (CML) is the institutional memory of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Inter-American System. It was created in 1890 with contributions from the hemisphere's governments including “historical, geographical, and literary works, maps, manuscripts, and official documents relating to the history and civilization of America." Its holdings include official documentation from Specialized Conferences and Meetings, publications of the Specialized Organs of the OAS, as well as rare books, archives, photographs, and more.
Ms. Rocio Suarez will be our kind host. As a U.S. national, Ms. Suarez joined the OAS in 2003 and has spent her entire career in the Columbus Memorial Library (CML), where she is currently the Library and Archives Specialist. As Reference/Documents Librarian, Ms. Suarez is tasked with preserving and disseminating the institutional memory of the OAS.
